How we handle your data
Privacy.
"Local-first" applies to the systems we install in your home. The marketing website is a different surface — this page covers what happens with the limited data the site and the walkthrough form collect.
What we collect when you visit the site
We use Google Analytics 4 to record which pages you visited, how long you stayed, the country and approximate region your IP suggests, your device type and browser, and the referrer that sent you here (a search engine, a QR code, an ad). No cookies are required to use the site. Google Analytics uses an anonymous fingerprint that resets every 24 hours — there is no persistent identity and we cannot connect your visit today to a different visit next week.
What we collect when you submit the walkthrough form
The contact form posts directly to our email (contact@backyardawarecraft.com). No third-party form service. No database. No CRM. We use the information you provide — name, email, address, what's bugging you about your current setup — to schedule the walkthrough and stay in touch about the install.
The form submission also includes the marketing channel that brought you here (door hanger, ad, search) so we know which channels are working. This is the same data Google Analytics sees, sent server-side as a backup so it survives ad blockers.
Who else sees this
- Google Analytics — receives the page-view information described above. Used only to understand which channels are working.
- Our install partners — licensed handymen and irrigation technicians may see your address and project details so they can do the physical install work. They sign a scope of work with you directly.
- Nobody else.
What we never do
- · We do not sell your data.
- · We do not run advertising trackers (Facebook Pixel, etc.) on this site.
- · We do not store credit card or payment information on this site.
- · We do not share your address or system details with anyone outside the install team.
How to make changes or request deletion
Email contact@backyardawarecraft.com and tell us what you'd like done:

We reply within 24 hours.
This page describes the website's data handling. Your installed system runs on a Raspberry Pi in your mechanical room — none of its data ever leaves your property. That's a different commitment, covered in the scope of work for each install.
